How to get to Wonderful World of Trains & Planes by train, tram or car

By train:

New Street Station, 15 minute walk

Exit New Street Station at Stephenson Street, cross over the road onto the pedestrian zone (with Cafe Nero on the left hand corner), continue straight ahead crossing over New Street and up Temple Street towards Birmingham Cathedral. Continue through the church yard and round onto Colmore Row. Cross over and go down Church Street, passing Hotel Du Vin until you come to the dual carriageway on Great Charles Street. Turn left and take the footbridge to cross over Great Charles Street and onto Ludgate Hill. Walk up Lugate Hill towards St Paul’s Church. When you reach the top of Ludgate Hill turn right, past the Jam House and walk down towards the railway arches, Wonderful World of Trains & Planes is on the right.

Moor Street Station, 15 minute walk

When you exit Moor Street Station cross over the road and turn right heading to Carrs Lane. Turn left into Carrs Lane and continue to the High Street, where you will need to turn left and then right into Union Street. Head up Union Street, passing Argos, until you come to Corporation Street. Cross over and walk up Cherry Street, which runs along the side of House of Fraser, to Birmingham Cathedral. Continue through the church yard and round onto Colmore Row. Cross over and go down Church Street, passing Hotel Du Vin until you come to the dual carriageway on Great Charles Street. Turn left and take the footbridge to cross over Great Charles Street and onto Ludgate Hill. Walk up Lugate Hill towards St Paul’s Church. When you reach the top of Ludgate Hill turn right, past the Jam House and walk down towards the railway arches, Wonderful World of Trains & Planes is on the right.

Snow Hill Station, 5-8 minute walk

Monday – Saturday you exit via the (rear) Livery Street entrance. Exit and turn right, walk up Livery Street, crossing over Lionel Street and then Water Street, take the next left into Mary Ann Street, where you will find Wonderful World of Trains & Planes on your left.

On Sundays, exit Snow Hill Station onto Colmore Row and turn right into Livery Street. Walk down Livery Street, when you get to the dual carriageway, take the underpass under the road and back onto Livery Street, walk up Livery Street, crossing over Lionel Street and then Water Street, take the next left into Mary Ann Street, where you will find Wonderful World of Trains & Planes on your left.

By tram:

The nearest tram station is Snow Hill Station (see above).

St Paul’s Station, 6-10 minute walk

Exit the station onto Constitution Hill and turn right, head down Constitution Hill, at the first junction turn right into Henrietta Street, passing under the railway arch. Cross over Livery Street into Mary Ann Street, Wonderful World of Trains & Planes is on the left.

By Car:

From the M6 (M42 and M5 both lead to the M6)

At the M6 junction 6 take the A38(m) into Birmingham city centre, continue on this route, once you are on the flyover get into the left hand lane and exit at the end of the flyover. Get into the right hand lane as you approach the traffic lights. You will need to take a right turn onto the Constitution Hill A41. Take the third left turn(first is a no entry) into Henrietta Street, passing under the railway arch. Cross over Livery Street into Mary Ann Street, Wonderful World of Trains & Planes is on the left.

Car Parking:

We do not have a car park, however, there is plenty of local on street parking and several car parks within a short walk. Parking in and around St Paul's Square is FREE on Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays. Currently the closest is at the bottom of Lugate Hill.
